Calls on social welfare sector to unite and face social problems together

        The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr. Chan Kwok-kei, said in his speech at an event that the social welfare sector is an important member of the Hong Kong community and shoulders the mission of serving the people. He called on the sector to be united in facing up to different social problems.
        
        Chan pointed out that as mentioned in the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), leading the country towards Chinese-style modernization and high-quality development is equally important to Hong Kong's long-term development and people's well-being.
        
        He hoped that the social welfare sector could further consolidate its strength and do a good job in providing social welfare services, so that those in need of help could be supported and cared for, and the public could have a greater sense of security, acquisition and well-being, and at the same time seize the opportunities to contribute to the development of the country and the revitalization of the nation.
