Yorushika’s new single “Sun”, which was written as the theme song for the movie “Shotai” to be released on November 29th, has been released today on November 22nd, simultaneously with MV release. “Shotai” is a suspense entertainment film based on the novel of the same title by Tamehito Tamei. Keiichi Kaburagi was sentenced to death for murder and subsequently escaped. The film depicts how Matanuki, a detective in pursuit of Kaburagi, encounters a new image of Kaburagi as if he were a different person through interviews with the people he met on his escape. Directed by Michihito Fujii of “The Last 10 Years” (2022) and “18×2 Beyond Youthful Days” (2024). Kaburagi is played by Ryusei Yokohama, with Riho Yoshioka as Sayaka, Shintaro Morimoto as Kazuya, Anna Yamada as Mai, and Takayuki Yamada as Matanuki. Art director Tetsuya Nagato created a collage work on the theme of “Sun”, and the music video documents the process of its creation. The collage, which is also used as the cover art of “Sun”, will be exhibited at the gallery “THE PLUG” in Harajuku from November 27 in the “Tetsuya Nagato + Yorushika ‘Sun’” exhibition, so don’t miss it.
