US State Dept approves possible sale to Taiwan

The U.S. State Department has approved a possible foreign military sale to Taiwan of fighter jet spare and repair parts for $330 million, the Pentagon said late on Thursday. "The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) has requested to buy non-standard components, spare and repair parts, consumables and accessories, and repair and return support for F-16, C-130, and Indigenous Defense Fighter (IDF) aircraft; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support," the Pentagon said in a statement. "The proposed sale is consistent with U.S. law and policy," it added.
