This track came from the feeling of being far from home. One of us is from Hong Kong, the other from Chile, and we wrote it while trying to carry pieces of where we're from into life in a city that can feel cold and unfamiliar.
The ronroco, a traditional Andean instrument, runs through the song as a link to Chile, and a section of whispered Cantonese carries the sound of home from Hong Kong. Built on just two chords, it draws from artists like Brian Eno, Grouper and the softer edges of internet-era nostalgia. Listeners have told us it helps them switch off or feel less alone, and that's what we hope it offers: a quiet space to hold onto.
