Drug lab discovered, 4 detained in eastern Afghan province
Personnel of the border force of Afghanistan's national army have discovered a drug processing lab in the eastern Nangarhar province and taken into custody four individuals from the site, said a statement of the army stationed in the region on Sunday.
The contraband was unearthed in Khogyani district the other day, the statement said, adding that the security personnel have also discovered a variety of illegal objects, including 52 kg methamphetamine, the statement said.
Without providing more details, the statement noted that no one has the right to produce, process or traffic illegal drugs.
The Afghan government has vowed to fight the cultivation of illegal crops, including opium poppy, processing to drugs, and their trafficking until the once drug-producing nation gets free of the drug menace.
