Over 1,000 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza since ceasefire

A total of 1,005 Palestinians have been killed and 3,157 others injured by Israeli forces in Gaza since a ceasefire was reached in October 2025, Gaza-based health authorities said Wednesday.

The total death toll since Oct. 7, 2023 has reached 73,016, with 173,265 injuries, the authorities said in its daily update.

Separately, the authorities said in a statement that they "may be forced" to suspend the medical referral process for patients in Gaza seeking treatment abroad, citing continued restrictions and complications affecting their travel.

They said 36 lists comprising about 3,000 patients have been submitted since February and remain pending approval for travel and treatment.

Also on Wednesday, Hamas voiced hope that its flexibility in ongoing negotiations in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, will pave the way for agreements to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
