Man, 44, critically injured after being hit by bus in Central

A 44-year-old Filipino man was critically injured after being struck by a bus while crossing the road in Central last night.



The incident occurred around 8pm when a bus traveling along Des Voeux Road towards Western District hit the man near the Landmark.



He suffered severe head injuries and was found unconscious on the ground. He was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.



KMB said a Route 905 bus was traveling along Des Voeux Road towards Pedder Street around 8.30pm when the man suddenly ran out from a pedestrian crossing near the Landmark.



The bus had a green traffic light at the time of the incident.



The bus windscreen was cracked.



KMB said it has sent staff to comfort the victim's family and will cooperate with police in the investigation.
