Egypt's ambassador to Palestine presents credentials, reaffirms support
Egypt's Ambassador to Palestine Bassem Abdel Hadi presented his credentials to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Saturday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Abdel Hadi conveyed a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Abbas, reaffirming "Egypt's keenness to continue supporting the brotherly Palestinian people in various fields and standing by them in defending their legitimate rights."
He also voiced Egypt's continued support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
"The Palestinian cause remains at the core of the conflict in the region," Abdel Hadi said, stressing that achieving regional security and stability requires a just and comprehensive settlement based on the two-state solution.
