Tsuen Wan Shopping Mall's exterior glass fell causing injuries

        Last night, a glass veneer on the exterior wall of Tsuen Wan shopping mall City Plaza fell, injuring four passers-by and affecting a private car parked nearby; the Buildings Department will issue a survey order to the owner.
        
        After receiving a notification from the police at about 7:30 last night, the Buildings Department immediately sent personnel to conduct an inspection and found a piece of glass measuring about 3 meters by 2 meters on the outer wall of the fifth floor of the shopping mall City Sundi facing Wo Di Street in Yeung Uk Road Market. After falling, 3 men and 1 woman suffered injuries to their foreheads, necks and shoulders respectively. Three of the injured were sent to Yan Chai Hospital for treatment by ambulance. Together with this incident, the glass exterior wall of City Sun Place has been blown out three times this year.
        
        The department stated that there is no obvious danger to the overall structure of the building, and it has asked the property management company to arrange for a contractor to remove the remaining glass fragments, and arrange to investigate the condition of other finishes as soon as possible to carry out necessary repairs to ensure public safety. The department will monitor the relevant matters The progress of survey work and repairs; the affected footpath remains temporarily closed.
        
        The Buildings Department will issue a survey order to the owner, emphasizing that the owner has the responsibility to ensure the safety of his building.
