Iran's parliament speaker calls for united Muslim response after leader's death

        Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf on Sunday urged legislative bodies and governments of Muslim states to take a "deterrent" stance against Israel to prevent future violations of international law and human rights.
        During a phone call with Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri, Qalibaf expressed his condolences for Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli attack on Dahieh, a Beirut suburb, on Friday. The attack also claimed the life of a senior commander from Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Abbas Nilforoushan, according to Iran's official news agency IRNA.
        Qalibaf emphasized the need for a coordinated response from Muslim states, stating, "We must create deterrence and pursue legal actions to ensure violations by Israel cease."
        He described Nasrallah as a "great scholar and influential commander," calling his death a significant loss for both Hezbollah and the Muslim community.
        Additionally, Qalibaf condemned Israel's recent airstrikes in Lebanon, which resulted in numerous casualties, reaffirming Iran's commitment to supporting Lebanon in its time of need.
        Berri remarked that all of Lebanon is mourning Nasrallah, highlighting the importance of unity amidst ongoing tensions and affirming that resistance against Israel will continue, the IRNA reported.
