At least 26 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza

31/10/2024 6:07
At least 26 Palestinians were killed and dozens of others injured on Wednesday in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said.
In the southern Gazan city of Khan Younis, Israeli warplanes bombed a home in the Sheikh Nasser neighborhood, killing four people, including a child and two women, according to Palestinian medical sources.
In central Gaza, medics from Al-Aqsa Hospital told Xinhua that an Israeli strike on a tent housing displaced people in Deir al-Balah resulted in three deaths and multiple injuries.
In Gaza's north, Palestinian paramedics said an airstrike near Sheikh Radwan market in Gaza City killed six and injured 20, while security sources told Xinhua that another strike targeting a group of Palestinians on the city beach killed five.
In Beit Lahia, another city in northern Gaza, eight people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a gathering in the Al-Sultan neighborhood, according to medical sources and eyewitnesses.
The Beit Lahia municipality declared the city a "disaster" area due to ongoing Israeli attacks. A day earlier, an Israeli airstrike on a five-story building in the city killed at least 93 people.
The municipality said in a statement that the city's residents are suffering from a "humanitarian catastrophe" due to a lack of food, water, and basic services.
The Israel Defense Forces on Wednesday confirmed ongoing military operations, stating that its troops killed dozens of militants in northern Gaza's Jabalia over the past day.
Israel has been conducting a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and around 250 others taken hostage.
The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza has risen to 43,163, the Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Wednesday.
