Taibai Seafood Restaurant, the collective memory of Hong Kong people and with a history of more than 60 years, will resume operations in phases, with plans to reopen in the second half of 2026 at the earliest.
Sham Wan Tai Pak Pier, Sham Wan Cape Palace Pier and Aberdeen Tai Pak Pier have been repaired earlier and will be reopened to the public. The operator that took over, Simpang Hong, held a pier lighting ceremony yesterday evening and plans to hold a guided tour of Tai Pak in the first quarter of next year, to let participants understand the history and architectural features of Taibai Seafood Restaurant and will launch a special menu for customers to dine on the boat next to the pier or in the center of the sea, creating a new trend check-in point, hoping to bring prosperity to Aberdeen through the seafood restaurant along the way, driving tourism development in Aberdeen.
Taibai Seafood Restaurant was established in 1962 as a large-scale maritime restaurant. It once became a tourist hotspot and a filming location for movies. However, it closed during the epidemic in 2020 and was later acquired.
