Number of volunteers for the National Games increased

In order to coordinate with the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for People with Disabilities and the 9th Special Olympics to be held next year, the Hong Kong government is recruiting citizens to participate in voluntary work in the games. Due to the overwhelming response, the authorities have increased the number of volunteers, recruiting about 15,000. There are 2,000 adult volunteers and about 2,000 youth volunteers, allowing more citizens to participate in this event.
Applicants need to participate in a group interview process, with nearly 300 social elites from all walks of life serving as voluntary judges. The National Games Co-ordinator expects to complete all volunteer interviews in January next year. After being selected, volunteers will need to receive training. The National Games will be held from November 9 to 21 next year. Hong Kong will host basketball (men's under-22 group), track cycling, fencing, golf, handball (men), rugby sevens, triathlon and beach volleyball. Competition events, and bowling as a mass event.
The Special Olympics Paralympic Games will be held from December 8 to 15 next year. Hong Kong will host the Paralympic events of boccia, wheelchair fencing and table tennis (TT11 group), the mass event of wheelchair dance, and the Special Olympics event of table tennis.
