Security forces discover weapons, ammunition in S. Afghanistan

Afghanistan's counter-terrorism units have discovered a large amount of arms and ammunition during operations over the past month in the southern Helmand province, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Tuesday.



The contrabands, which included 90 pistols, 6 Kalashnikovs, other kinds of assault rifles, and bullets, were discovered in the provincial capital Lashkar Gah and in some districts of the province.



The weapons and ammunition were illegally kept in residential houses, according to the statement.
