A ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held this morning in Tiananmen Square, Beijing.



Financial Secretary Paul Chan, who attended the ceremony in Beijing, said that amidst the commemorative atmosphere, he felt that the Chinese nation is a great nation that is unafraid of violence and self-reliant and strong. He firmly believes that under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, with the sincere unity of the people across the country, the great goal of national rejuvenation will surely be achieved.



Chan Mo-po said on his social media account that the solemn and majestic military presence and advanced and powerful equipment at the military parade fully demonstrated the rapid progress of China's military, scientific and technological, and comprehensive strength, demonstrating the nation's unwavering resolve to safeguard the country, provide the strongest guarantee for safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests, ensuring the people's livelihoods, and safeguarding peace and stability throughout the region. He said, "As a member of the Chinese nation, I feel incredibly proud."



Chan Mo-po also emphasized that in the volatile international environment, it is even more important to adhere to the path of peaceful development. Firmly safeguarding the core interests of national development, Hong Kong will actively play its role as a "super connector" and "super value-added provider" and contribute to national development.
