The House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovinas (BiH) Parliamentary Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution calling for the protection of civilians, unimpeded humanitarian aid, and media freedom in Palestine.
Proposed by Sasa Magazinovic of Social Democratic Party, the resolution passed with 28 votes in favor and seven abstentions, with none opposed. Magazinovic said the text was carefully worded to avoid any contentious language and highlighted reports of heavy civilian losses in Gaza, including the killing of children, journalists, athletes, and people waiting for aid.
The resolution urges an immediate, unconditional halt to all hostilities, including land, sea, and rocket attacks, to safeguard civilians, ensure humanitarian assistance, and create conditions for peace talks. It condemns indiscriminate military action, terrorism, starvation tactics, and the obstruction of aid, and stresses the protection of humanitarian workers, hospitals, clinics, and journalists.
It also reaffirms support for international efforts toward a just and lasting peace and opposes attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites.
