Iraqi president meets Croatian FM to discuss bilateral ties

Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid met Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman on Saturday in Baghdad to discuss expanding cooperation in politics, the economy, and culture.
Rashid said Iraq is working to "broaden its partnerships with Croatia and EU member states," noting that the country is preparing for new parliamentary elections to reinforce democratic practice and ensure the peaceful transfer of power.
Radman, leading a government and business delegation, praised Iraq's role in regional and international stability and expressed Croatia's interest in joint projects in energy, education, and cultural exchange.
In a separate meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Radman highlighted opportunities in oil, gas, energy, and armaments.
Hussein said discussions also covered Iraq's ties with the EU and NATO, agricultural cooperation leveraging Croatia's expertise, and tourism and cultural initiatives.
Radman emphasized Croatia's commitment to strengthening collaboration, particularly in the energy sector.
