Thai PM says military ready to protect sovereignty

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said on Friday the military was ready to defend the country's sovereignty amid a border dispute with Cambodia. Paetongtarn, speaking after a two-hour meeting with the National Security Council on the border issue with Cambodia, said the military understood the situation and when escalation would be required. The Thai armed forces chief said the military supported the government's approach in seeking a peaceful resolution.
