One dead, three injured in fire at Gough Street, Central

        A fire broke out in a flat at Gough Street in Central at night, killing an elderly woman and injuring three others.
        
        The fire was reported to the police at around 10 p.m. The police received reports of a fire in a flat on the lower floor of Shun King House, 9 Gough Street. Firefighters responded to the scene and put out the fire.
        
        An 86-year-old woman was found unconscious inside the flat, and was confirmed dead by ambulance crews. The cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
        
        The elderly woman's 66-year-old daughter-in-law and another man and woman residents suffered from smoke inhalation but were all conscious. They were taken to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.
        
        About 16 residents evacuated themselves to a safe location.
        
        The police believe that a television set in one of the flats at the scene may have short-circuited, causing the fire. There is no evidence at this stage to suggest that there is a criminal element to the case.
