Iran has condemned the continuation of U.S. airstrikes on Yemen as well as new Israeli attacks targeting the Lebanese capital Beirut.
In statements released on Friday night, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei slammed the U.S. airstrikes on Yemen as "illegal and unjustified."
He called the attacks "criminal actions," which were in "flagrant violation" of the principles of the United Nations Charter and the fundamental rules of international law, including international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
Separately, Baghaei said the Israeli airstrikes on residential areas in Beirut were "a clear violation" of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.
The spokesman expressed disgust at Israel's "criminal action, which is a gross violation of Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty," and called for immediate and effective actions by the international community to put an end to Israel's "frequent violations" of the ceasefire deal.
The U.S. military launched fresh airstrikes on Yemen's capital Sanaa and other provinces on Friday evening, which killed at least one person and injured three others.
The Israeli military said its airstrikes on Beirut targeted a "drone storage facility" belonging to Hezbollah.
