Police crack down on street gambling in Shatin

The police and the Housing Department jointly cracked down on street gambling in black spots in Shatin. During the operation, law enforcement officers arrested 11 local men and one local woman aged between 49 and 85 in the areas of Kwong Yuen Estate, Sun Chui Estate and Chung On Estate for suspected "gambling in any place other than a casino or on the street". All the arrested persons have been charged.



In addition, Housing Department staff also cleared a large amount of debris at gambling black spots. The police will continue to work with stakeholders to strengthen patrols and crack down on street gambling activities.
