The Hospital Authority announced that in order to meet the needs of the public for medical treatment during the Easter holidays and to reduce the pressure on the emergency department, special measures for peak service demand will be launched from today. In order to facilitate patients with stable conditions to flexibly choose other medical arrangements, the Hospital Authority will also re-implement the special refund arrangement for the emergency department from today. If patients want to choose to go to other medical institutions for treatment while waiting for the doctor's consultation in the emergency department, they can apply for a refund of the emergency department fees paid directly to the duty staff at the registration office, or submit an application through the mobile application "HA Go".



During the Easter holidays, from April 18 to 21, 18 general outpatient clinics will provide public holiday general outpatient services. Patients can make appointments through the telephone appointment system or the "General Outpatient Appointment" function in the "HA Go" mobile application. The 18 district Chinese medicine clinics will also strengthen their services before and after the Easter holidays, and 4 of them will provide services during the holidays.



The Hospital Authority said that non-urgent patients should avoid using the emergency room and try to seek treatment at general outpatient clinics, private doctors and private hospitals 24-hour outpatient clinics to reduce the pressure on public hospital emergency rooms. Citizens can browse the Medical and Health Bureau's primary care guide. The Medical and Health Bureau has also integrated the information of private hospitals, medical institutions, family doctors and Chinese medicine clinics in 18 districts in Hong Kong that will be open during the Easter holidays, and uploaded the information of relevant hospitals and clinics to the online platform.
