A major Kurdish conference concluded Saturday in the northeastern city of Qamishli with the adoption of a joint political vision for resolving the Kurdish issue within a democratic, decentralized Syrian state.
The "Conference for Kurdish Unity in Rojava Kurdistan" brought together over 400 figures from Rojava, the Kurdish-majority region in northern and northeastern Syria, other Kurdish regions, and Syrian areas, along with political party and civil society representatives.
In a final statement, participants emphasized the need for a unified Kurdish approach to building a new Syria following the fall of the previous regime in December 2024.
The statement called for constitutional guarantees for Kurdish rights, respect for human rights conventions, and full participation of women in all institutions.
The conference also decided to form a joint Kurdish delegation to engage in dialogue with the new Syrian administration and national forces to implement the adopted vision.
