Hunger kills 18 in Gaza over 24 hours: health authorities

The Gaza-based health authorities said, at least 18 Palestinians died in the past 24 hours due to hunger in Gaza, bringing the total death toll of hunger in the enclave since March to 86, including 76 children.
It said in a press statement, what is happening in Gaza, home to more than two million people, is a "silent massacre," adding that about 17,000 children suffer from severe malnutrition in the enclave.
It demanded immediate opening of the crossings to allow the entry of food and medicine.
Meanwhile, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East said in a statement on social media platform X that "Israeli authorities are starving civilians in Gaza, including one million children."
It urged lifting the Israeli blockade on Gaza.
