Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that Ukraine will not surrender its territories to Russia as part of a possible peace agreement.
"The answer to the Ukrainian territorial question already is in the Constitution of Ukraine. No one will deviate from this -- and no one will be able to," he said on Telegram.
He stressed that Ukraine is ready for solutions that can bring peace, but any agreements made without Ukraine's participation are "decisions against peace."
Zelensky reiterated his commitment to working with U.S. President Donald Trump and other partners to achieve real and lasting peace.
On Friday, Trump announced on social media that he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Aug. 15 in the U.S. state of Alaska.
