Concrete Falls at a Building on Nathan Road in Yau Ma Tei
20/8/2025 18:09
At around 5:00 AM, concrete fell from the third-floor canopy of a building on Nathan Road in Yau Ma Tei, landing at a bus stop. Due to the early hours, pedestrians were sparse, and bus services had not yet commenced, so no injuries were reported.
The scene occurred near 229 Nathan Road, heading towards Mong Kok, near Bowring Street. Crushed concrete was seen scattered across the ground. Some pieces were as large as fists, while others were as long as 20 centimeters. Authorities temporarily closed a section of the sidewalk and the opposite road. Workers arrived, raised a crane to the third floor, and inspected and removed the potentially falling wall. The cleanup was completed around 9:00 AM, and the road reopened.
