Syria's interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa met here on Thursday with a high-level Turkish delegation, said a statement from the Syrian presidency.
The delegation included Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Guler, and National Intelligence Organization Chief Ibrahim Kalin, said the statement.
On the Syrian side, al-Sharaa was joined by interim Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani, interim Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra, and Anas Hasan Khattab, head of Syria's General Intelligence Service, said the statement.
The statement did not provide further details on the meeting.
Turkish semi-official Anadolu Agency also confirmed the meeting on Thursday, saying the delegation's visit was "aimed at official talks."
T羹rkiye reopened its embassy in Damascus following the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government in late 2024, marking a significant shift in T羹rkiye-Syria relations, which had been strained during the Syrian civil war.
Ankara has also pledged to back the new Syrian administration in rebuilding the country and establishing its state structures.
