Australian teenager charged with murder following fatal stabbing

Police in the Australian state of Victoria announced on Saturday that an 18-year-old man was charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Lyndhurst, a suburb in Melbourne, earlier this month.
Police officers arrested the 18-year-old and a 17-year-old boy in Doveton, another suburb in Melbourne, at about 5.30 p.m. local time on Friday.
The two teenagers were interviewed by homicide detectives. The 18-year-old was charged with murder, and the 17-year-old was released pending further inquiries.
According to the police statement, investigators were told that a group of males were seen fighting near a street in Lyndhurst at about 8.30 p.m. local time on March 14. Emergency services arrived and found a male with serious injuries consistent with a stabbing, and all other parties had fled the scene.
The injured male, aged 24, was taken to hospital where he later died.
