Over 100 people were still missing four days after a cloudburst hit a village in India's northern hilly state of Uttarakhand, local sources said on Friday.
Efforts were being made to airlift advanced equipment to expedite the search for those trapped under the rubble, though chances of their survival diminished with each passing day.
Among those missing were a group of 16 tourists from Jalgaon region in the southwestern state of Maharashtra, and a few Nepali citizens.
Search and rescue work was going on, but only six dead bodies could be recovered so far. Debris, slush and rubble were seen strewn, the sources said.
Several small hotels and restaurants were swept away in the strong current of slush that gushed down a river following the cloudburst.
