3 Chinese tourists killed, 3 critically injured in southeast Kenya road accident

Three Chinese tourists were killed, and three others seriously injured in a road accident along a busy road in Kajiado, southeast Kenya, Thursday, police confirmed. Police Spokesperson Resila Onyango said the accident occurred in the morning when the six Chinese tourists traveling from Amboseli National Park to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. "Preliminary investigations indicate that the rear left wheel of the vehicle detached from the axle, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. As a result the vehicle veered off from the road and overturned," Onyango said. "As a result of the accident, all the six tourists were critically injured and rushed to Kilome Nursing and Maternity Hospital in Emali. Three of them, two males and one female, died while undergoing treatment. The other three, two females and one male, are still undergoing treatment in critical condition," Onyango said. The vehicle driver, a local, suffered slight injuries and is in hospital for medical treatment.
