"Strong Wind Signal No. 3" will remain in force until at least 10 am today

The Observatory issued the latest tropical cyclone warning: "Strong Wind Signal No. 3" is now in effect. The average wind speed in Hong Kong is expected to be 41 to 62 kilometers per hour. At 12:00 midnight, super typhoon "Ginkgo" gathered about 360 kilometers south of Hong Kong and is expected to move towards It moved slowly west or west-northwest, across the northern part of the South China Sea, and then turned to move southwest. "Ginkgo" is now slowly passing over about 300 kilometers south of Hong Kong. Under the joint influence of "Ginkgo" and the northeast monsoon, the prevailing winds in Hong Kong are gradually increasing, with strong winds occasionally blowing offshore and in highlands. And in Hong Kong The strong rain band in the waters to the south will approach the Guangdong coast around midnight, bringing violent showers and possibly violent gusts to the area. Unless "Ginkgo" takes a more northerly path and approaches the Pearl River Estuary, the chance of issuing a higher tropical cyclone warning signal is very low.
