Tunisian customs seizes 43 kg of cocaine in coastal province

Tunisian customs has seized nearly 43 kilograms of cocaine during an intelligence-led operation in the coastal province of Sfax, the General Directorate of Customs announced on Tuesday.



The operation, part of nationwide efforts to combat drug trafficking, was conducted during a highway patrol and surveillance mission in Sfax.



According to the statement posted on the Directorate's Facebook page, authorities discovered 42,929 grams of cocaine, including packaging, hidden inside a truck. The confiscated drugs are estimated to be worth over 12.8 million Tunisian dinars (about 4.44 million U.S. dollars).



The case has been referred to relevant security services for further investigation
