A 24-year-old Indian man in Yau Ma Tei was attacked by two fellow residents

A 24-year-old Indian man was attacked by two fellow residents with sharp weapons in Yau Ma Tei and was injured and sent to the hospital. The police temporarily arrested an Indian man.



The police received a report from a 24-year-old Indian man at around 8:00 pm Thursday, saying that he and another Indian man holding a newspaper had a dispute over trivial matters at Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei. The Indian man, with the newspaper, attacked with a sharp weapon and fled the scene.



The police received the report and went to the scene to investigate. During the incident, an Indian man holding street paper returned to the scene and was stopped by the police. After preliminary investigation, he was arrested on suspicion of wounding. He is being detained for investigation.



The male victim was injured on his hand and was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment.
