A man was arrested for possessing the first batch of poison after powder and tools commonly known as space oil were found in Kwai Chung. Based on tips and investigations, the police launched an anti-drug operation in Kwai Chung at about 9:00 pm Thursday. They found a man acting suspiciously in Kwai Shing West Estate and stopped him for investigation. The police found about 1.67 kilograms of suspected "etomidate", commonly known as "space oil", in a cardboard box held by the 22-year-old man. They also found powder of space oil and other tools. The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing poison and is being detained for investigation. During the operation, the first piece of poison seized by the police was initially estimated to be able to be made into about 4,000 space oil smoke bombs, each worth about NT$300, with a market value of about NT$1.2 million. The police believe that criminals will mix space oil with glycerin of different flavors, heat it to become a liquid, and then inject it into electronic cigarette cartridges for sale.
