A foreigner was hit by a taxi on Kennedy Road in Mid-Levels, Wan Chai, and was sent to hospital in a coma. The male taxi driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. At around 10:00 pm Sunday, a taxi was traveling westbound along Kennedy Road. When it arrived at No. 44 Kennedy Road, it hit a 28-year-old foreign man. The man fell to the ground with multiple injuries and was wrapped under the car. Ambulance personnel arrived at the scene and rescued the injured man. He was unconscious and sent to Ruttonjee Hospital for emergency treatment, and was later transferred to Queen Mary Hospital. After preliminary investigation, the police arrested the 62-year-old male taxi driver on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious bodily injury. He is being detained for investigation. The case has been handed over to the Accident Investigation Team of the Hong Kong Island Regional Traffic Department for follow-up.
