With the cold weather warning in effect, the Home Affairs Department has opened 18 temporary cold shelter centers in various districts of Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories for people in need to take shelter from the cold. The centers will continue to be open while the cold weather warning continues to be in effect, and clean mattresses and mattresses will be provided free of charge. Felts/quilts, as well as hot food and hot water are provided for guests.
In order to ensure that people staying in the temporary shelter can rest in a quiet and undisturbed environment, any citizen or organization that wishes to send items to the residents must first contact the center staff to register, and then place the items in a designated indoor location. .The center staff will help inform the residents of the relevant arrangements and allow them to collect the necessary items on their own.
Anyone who needs to use the cold shelter or inquires about the arrangements for distributing donated items at the center can call the Home Affairs Department hotline 2572 8427.
