Cold Weather Warning and Red Fire Danger Warning are in effect

Cold weather warnings and red fire danger warnings are now in effect.



The Observatory predicts that the weather in Hong Kong will be cold this morning, with the lowest temperature in the urban area around 12 degrees, and in the New Territories it will be a few degrees lower, with very dry weather during the day. From early next week until Christmas, it will still be cool in the mornings and evenings.



Citizens should keep warm, wear warm clothing, and maintain indoor air circulation. If you know elderly people who live alone or patients with chronic diseases, you can call or visit them from time to time to see if you need help.



The Home Affairs Department has opened 18 temporary cold shelter centers in various districts to provide people in need with shelter from the cold. The centers will continue to be open while the cold weather warning continues to be in effect, and will provide free clean mattresses, blankets, quilts, hot food and Hot water for guests staying in.
