20/12/2024 6:16
A bus carrying foreign tourists collided with a minibus in Rovaniemi, northern Finland, on Thursday, resulting in 37 people being taken to the hospital for medical evaluation, according to local media.

Some individuals required extended care, national broadcaster Yle reported. A spokesperson for the Lapland Rescue Service confirmed the involvement of foreign nationals but did not disclose their specific nationalities. The bus driver was identified as Finnish.

The collision, reportedly partially head-on, occurred under poor visibility caused by blowing snow, the spokesperson added.

Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.

Rovaniemi, located near the Arctic Circle, is a popular tourist destination in northern Finnish Lapland.
