Light aircraft crashes in UAE, killing 2 pilots

A light aircraft from an aviation club crashed into the sea off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Sunday, killing the pilot and co-pilot, according to an official source.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed the incident and announced that its Air Accidents Investigation Section has been alerted and is currently working with relevant authorities to determine the cause of the crash.

In a statement, the GCAA expressed its condolences to the families of the victims.

Investigators are piecing together the details of the accident, while recovery and examination teams continue their efforts in the area.
