The Hong Kong Marathon took place this morning, with approximately 74,000 runners registered for the event. During the event, over 900 runners experienced medical issues, including 8 who required hospitalization. Fortunately, all eight are reported to be in stable condition.
The original top two mainland runners in the Men's Half-Marathon and one winner in the Men's 10km were found to be in a different identity, resulting in their disqualification after the race. Lam Wing Cheung, a local runner and the third place winner of the Half-Marathon Men's race, won the championship with a time of 1 hour, 07 minutes, and 38 seconds.
When asked about the possibility of a substitute runner, Mr. Lam stated that he was attempting to ascertain the reason for the incident.
In the men's race, African Kenyan runners secured both first and second place. Ludo, participating in Hong Kong for the first time, won the men's race with a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes and 13 seconds. In the women's race, Mazurana from Belarus took the top spot with a time of 2 hours, 27 minutes.
