Myanmar holds 2024 film academy awards ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw

Myanmar held the 2024 Film Academy Awards presentation ceremony in its capital Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday evening, the state-run daily Myanma Alinn reported on Monday.



During the ceremony, Myanmar's State Administration Council Chairman Min Aung Hlaing delivered the opening speech, stating that this was the 66th Myanmar Film Academy Awards presentation.



He highlighted that Myanmar's film industry has been active for over 100 years, and it benefits the country by reflecting the natural conditions of the country through art.



He noted that more Myanmar films are now being screened at the cinemas compared to previous years, showing signs of the industry's revival. He thanked the artists for their efforts and encouraged unity to further improve the industry.



He also urged filmmakers and artists to preserve Myanmar's traditions, avoid foreign cultural influences, and use their skills to contribute to the country with a sense of nationalism.
