21/2/2025 6:19
The opening ceremony of Kai Tak Sports Park will be held at the Kai Tak Main Stadium at 6:30 pm on March 1. A total of 33,600 tickets will be available, half of which will be allocated by the government, and 8,300 of which will be reserved for low-income families, members of district councils and district associations, and guests invited by the government. The 8,500 tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at 10 am today at the City Ticketing Network. Each ticket is priced at a symbolic price of HK$10, including the handling fee. A maximum of two tickets can be purchased each time. The ticket revenue will not be deducted from the handling fee and will be donated to the Hong Kong Community Chest for charitable purposes. Successful ticket buyers must first go to the Kai Tak Sports and Arts Center of Kai Tak Sports Park to redeem their admission tickets before they can enter. In addition, the opening ceremony program will be broadcasted on four local free TV channels at 9:30 pm that night.

The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms. Law Suk-pui, said that the guests of honor at the opening ceremony included artists from the cultural and arts circles, Hong Kong athletes, and national team representatives. The program of the opening ceremony was organized into four major themes, including "A Hundred Rivers Converge into the Sea", "Inheriting the Past and Leading the Future", "Striving for the Top" and "Let a Hundred Flowers Bloom", demonstrating Hong Kong's important position in sports and cultural exchanges over the years. Chief Executive John Lee presided over a simple but grand opening ceremony that evening, followed by cross-generational sports, cultural and performing arts elites from the Mainland and Hong Kong, performing large-scale dances, sports and singing.
