The Home Affairs Department has opened 18 temporary shelters
24/2/2025 5:51
The cold weather warning is in effect. The Home Affairs Department has opened 18 temporary shelters in various districts for citizens in need to take shelter from the cold. The centers will remain open while the cold weather warning is still in effect during the daytime today.
During the opening period, each temporary shelter will provide free clean mattresses and blankets, hot food and hot water to the residents.
To ensure that residents of the temporary shelter can rest in a quiet and undisturbed environment, any citizen or group who wishes to send gifts to residents must first contact the center staff to register, and then place the items at a designated indoor location. The center staff will help inform the residents of the arrangements and allow them to pick up the items they need.
Anyone who needs to use the shelter or enquire about the arrangements for the distribution of gifts at the centre can call the Home Affairs Department hotline 2572 8427.
