The Hong Kong International Rugby Sevens, which was held at the Kai Tak Sports Park for the first time, has ended. The organizers said that more than 110,000 people attended the event on the 3rd, nearly 14,000 more than last year.

Many senior government officials, including Chief Executive John Lee and Financial Secretary Paul Chan, attended the game.

Lee Ka-chiu said on his social media page that he and his wife were partying with tens of thousands of spectators, cheering for the athletes, chatting with the Hong Kong men's and women's team players, congratulating them on winning the Silver Sword Tournament, believing that winning at home in the new venue was particularly meaningful. Lee Ka-chiu also greeted Hong Kong tennis player Wong Chak-lam who was watching the game, congratulating him on making history at the Miami Tennis Classic earlier, and encouraging him to keep up the good work.

Lee Ka-chiu said that the Hong Kong Sevens have become one of the flagship events in Hong Kong, promoting Hong Kong to become an international sports event capital. The first competition at the Kai Tak Sports Park Main Stadium has been successfully "tournamented". The first-class facilities of this new home stadium in Hong Kong are ready, and exciting sports and cultural activities will be staged in turn.
