Egyptian president reiterates support to Jordan in confronting terrorism

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Saturday reiterated Egypt's full solidarity and unshakable support to Jordan "in confronting all forms of terrorism and extremist groups" that seek to undermine its security and stability.



According to a statement released by the Egyptian Presidency, al-Sisi held a phone conversation with King Abdullah II of Jordan, during which the Egyptian president stressed "the crucial importance of joint cooperation to achieve the aspirations of the peoples for a safe and stable life."



King Abdullah II voiced appreciation for the Egyptian support, and highlighted the "historical and fraternal relations" between the two countries, said the statement.



The two also discussed the developments in Gaza and West Bank, among others, said the statement.
