Vietnam's National Assembly convenes to discuss wide range of issues

The 15th National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam, the country's top legislature, opened its ninth session on Monday.
Local media reported, in his opening remarks, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that lawmakers will deliberate on a wide range of critical issues across various sectors, including constitution-building, legislation, supreme oversight, national policy decisions, socio-economic development and the state budget.
It said, he highlighted the historical significance of the session, describing it as an institutional breakthrough as Vietnam moves toward a new era of modernization, digital transformation, environmental sustainability and long-term development.
According to the report, the assembly is also expected to pass resolutions to boost private economic growth and invest in the development of the national railway system.
The session is scheduled to run through June 30 in two stages.
