A container caught fire at Kwai Chung Container Terminal

A container caught fire at Kwai Chung Container Terminal and was put out by firefighters. No one was injured.



At about 7pm last night, a container suddenly caught fire and smoked near Container Terminal No. 6 at Kwai Chung Container Terminal South Road, and an explosion was heard.



The firefighters arrived at the scene after receiving the report and dispatched two smoke helmet teams and two hoses to put out the fire. After about half an hour, the fire was put out. No one was injured and no evacuation was required.



The cause of the fire is pending investigation by the firefighters.
