Nearly 600 road accidents were received

The Highways Department said that during the storm, as of 9pm last night, nearly 600 road accidents were received.



As of 7:30pm last night, most of the affected major roads have returned to normal. As of 9pm last night, a total of 8 affected road sections are still temporarily closed, including No. 3 Tregunter Road in Central and Western District, Peak Road (two sections), Chung Hom Kok Road, Island Road, Repulse Bay Road in Southern District, Copper Road in Wan Chai District and A Kung Ngam Road in Eastern District.



The department's emergency teams are stepping up to complete the remaining cleanup work, with the goal of fully resuming normal traffic on all affected roads before the peak hours this morning.
