239 dead in traffic accidents in Nepal in 1 month

As many as 239 people, including 17 children, were killed in traffic accidents across Nepal between June 15 and July 16, police said on Tuesday.
In the 2,922 traffic accidents, 625 people were seriously injured and 3,491 others sustained minor injuries, Nepal Police said in a report.
A total of 4,428 vehicles were involved in the mishaps, with motorcycles blamed for 56.57 percent of them, followed by cars and trucks.
The country collected 120.84 million Nepali rupees (877,139 U.S. dollars) in fines for violations of traffic rules during the period, noted the report.
