China accuses Philippines of wrong words

China accused the Philippines of "adopting wrong and provocative words and deeds" related to Taiwan that it firmly opposes, the foreign ministry said on Friday. In a statement, the ministry cited a report that the Southeast Asian nation's leader had said it could not stay out of the matter in case of a confrontation between China and the United States over Taiwan. Beijing views democratically-governed Taiwan as its territory, a claim Taipei rejects. The Philippine embassy in Beijing did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
